Nigerians can make wonderful spouses!

Hello wonderful readers. It has been awhile now since I posted anything on my blog. I have been busy doing some other stuff. I am preparing for my wedding coming up by God's grace on October 25th 2008. I need Christians to pray for the success of the occassion.

I want to write this post based on some of the bad press my home country (Nigeria) has received on the internet and every where else.

Nigeria is a lovely third world country with lots of good stuff and ancient landmarks that speak of a rich cultural heritage and history. Just like most African countries, we live a communal life where there can be alot of sharing (information, resources and time). In as much as that is good, it has a flip side to it. If someone discovers how to scam on the internet for instance, he shares the details with his friends and relatives, who then learn to do the same and they also share and so on.

Some Nigerians are presently working hard to redeem the image of our beloved country. We have lots of Nigerians working abroad who have made a mark in their chosen fields. Take online moneymaking opportunities for exanple, we have lots of people like Akin Alabi, who are trying to teach Nigerians the legitimate way to get it right. Nigerians can actually make good spouses too!

The reason why I am interested in sharing this with you is the fact that people (especially ladies) have written in different forums to ask about Nigerians especially Nigerian men, and have been given wrong answers. One way or the other, you get to meet a Nigerian where ever you go to on the globe, doing honest stuff. I believe I am honest and I live in Nigeria and have met very honest Nigerians who happen to be my friends!

Nigerians are not the worst scammers on earth. New Yorkers can be much worst when it comes to credit card fraud, yet millions of New Yorkers are honest doing honest business and living the life of their dreams. Does that mean that people don't get scammed by New Yorkers any more? Far from it - it happens almost every day. Check the news and see. People with the right thoughts attract to themselves the right people and so on.

Our focus so far has been on Christianity and the Law of Atraction. If you have been scammed by a Nigerian in what ever form, was it because you attracted it to your life or was it because your were not careful or unlucky?

Ok here is the deal. Go through our earlier posts on this blog so you know where I stand on this issue. I believe in God and I believe that he answers prayers, however our thoughts can also attract circumstances to our lives whether good or bad. We can only insist on the good when we obey what is written in Rom 12:1-2 which talks about renewing your mind to understand God's will for you. This helps you not to operate by default but by design - God's design.

If you can renew your mind on God's plans for you concerning a business or a spouse, the right person for either the business or for friendship can be attracted to you - and he or she can be a Nigerian! Yes we can be very honest; fear not.

I am going to outline three methods I have used in renewing my mind.
  1. Read your Bible often. If you do not have one google online. Check for good online Bible teaching sites. Consistent Bible studies helps in the mind-renewing process.
  2. Journal your thoughts too! When you keep a journal, you'd begin to notice how your mind is getting renewed everyday. Some times I pick up my old journal and just laugh at my fears and uncertainties.
  3. Next spend time in active communication with the almighty. Prayer is meant to be a two-way process where you speak to God and He does the same. What you hear from Him can be good in your journal too
So much for mind renewal!

If you want to marry or want to start a business, read good balanced information on what you want. After much study, I am sure you will have an idea on what is obtainable. Next sit down, after prayer, to outline an ideal situation. As you pray daily, details can begin to appear to you from different sources (eg the news, friends etc). Write them all in your journal. When you are sure you have gotten what you want, commit everything to the Almighty in prayer, that the right people and resources be sent to you. I tell you they will come - at the right time if you do not give up.
